Our Committee

St Paul’s Church Nursery School was set up in accordance with a resolution of the St Paul’s Church PCC (January 2004) and is managed in line with the vision and values of St Paul’s Church.

Aims

The aims of the Nursery are:

  • To provide outstanding quality daily education and care for children aged 2-5 years and their families, within the local community.

  • To incorporate the Christian world-view, ethos and values into the provision of education and care, whilst remaining aware of, and respectful towards, those of other faiths.

  • To be a key part of the vision of St Paul’s church. Specifically, by parents and children being exposed to, informed about and welcomed into St Paul’s church family life and faith.

  • To advance the education and training of staff in the provision of Early Years education and care.

  • To carry out all aims, objectives and activities within an equal opportunities policy, giving consideration to social and economic circumstances, ethnic and cultural origins, an awareness of physical, sensory or learning disability and without gender or racial stereotyping.

Management Committee

The nursery is run by a Management Committee, which operates with delegated powers from St Paul’s PCC. It meets twice a term and is responsible for approving the finance/budget, policies and key staff appointments. It also receives reports from the Head, and its members visit the nursery and help out on open occasions such as the Fun Day.

It is a legal obligation for us to hold an Annual General Meeting at which the Annual Report and receipts and payment account and a statement of assets and liabilities are presented. However, we also like to make it an interesting time to talk about life in the nursery and to take questions from those who have an interest in it, so please look out for the date of the next one; it is normally held in March. Those eligible to attend are the Management Committee, PCC members and parents of children attending or about to attend the Nursery.
