CHILDREN'S & YOUTH SAFEGUARDING @ ST PAUL'S CHURCH

The welfare of children and young people is a top priority for us at St Paul's.

We have a team dedicated to the role of maintaining best practice in all areas of safeguarding; which includes safe recruitement of volunteer leaders, regular training and constant reviews of everything we do to see where we can improve.

We also know that Safeguarding includes adults who may be considered vulnerable. (See our general safeguarding page for more details).

CHILDREN'S SAFEGUARDING CO-ORDINATORS

If you have a query about safeguarding generally or would like to talk about a concern you have contact one of the St Paul's Safeguarding Team.

SAFEGUARDING POLICIES & PRACTICE

As part of the Church of England St Paul's uses the national guidance, policies and practice as well as the protocols provided by Guildford Diocese (click here for details).

Safeguarding must also be a priority for anyone wanting to use/hire part of the St Paul's site. For more details see our Safeguarding Lettings Policy.

All our volunteer leaders go through a safer recruitment process which requires references and DBS checks.

RAISING A CONCERN

We believe the responsibility for safeguarding doesn't just rest on those who have specific responsibility for children's and youth ministry.

Everybody in the church has a responsibility for being alert to any areas of concern.

If you have a concern, we encourage you to raise it. You may think "it's probably nothing." You may be right. But then again, it may actually be 'something' and you are the one who has noticed it. Your concern, however small may also be a piece that fits together with other pieces, building a larger picture.
