  • Know Your Blood Pressure Day is returning to the Christian Centre, next to St Martin’s Church, on Saturday 6 April 2019 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Each year Dorking Rotary Club organises the possibility for you to have your blood pressure checked by trained healthcare volunteers without the need to make an appointment with your GP.  Any enquiries please get in touch with the organiser, Jenny Partridge, who can be contacted on 01306 884030
  • Dorking Community Fridge at Goodwyns, is situated at the Harvest Community Church on Stubbs Hill. The fridge is open on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3-5pm.  There is also a fridge is at the Christian Centre and is open weekdays daily 10am to 8pm and weekends 10-6pm.  And whilst at the Goodwyns Fridge stop for a coffee and cake (£1) at our new café.  Bring a bag, bring some change, and help to reduce food waste in this way at a local level!  Do you care about the environment……….but perhaps feel a bit bewildered about what you can actually do to help?  Well one way that you can definitely help to reduce food waste is by popping along to the Community Fridge.  Food that is approaching the end of its shelf life (often with a long time to go!) is donated by Waitrose, Lidl, Tesco amongst others.  You are invited to come along and take what you fancy in return for a small donation which goes toward the running costs. 
  • Age Concern offering Tai ChiIf you are over 60 and live in the Mole Valley area, Age Concern offers you the opportunity to do Tai Chi Classes for a small fee.  Our qualified instructor will teach you how to combine deep breathing and relaxation with slow and gentle movements.  Studies show that Tai Chi can help people reduce stress, improve balance and mobility.  For further information, please call 01306 899104/07442 017169 or email: info@ageconcernmolevalley.org.uk

  • Creative Crafts - New Group at United Reformed Church.  Click here for flyer.  Donations of wool, knitting or crochet needles, cross stitch/tapestry (new or started), colouring books, and other unwanted crafting materials greatly appreciated.
  • Conquest Art - Is a charitable art group in Dorking inspiring people with disabilities and long term health issues to discover their creative energy and build self-confidence through art - The Dorking group meets on Thursdays at United Reformed Church.  It will be held the 1st, 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month from 2pm to 4pm.  No art experience necessary.  Make new friends and have fun.  For further info on becoming a member or  to volunteer call 0203 044 2731 or email enquiries@conquestart.org
  • Homestart is a local charity based in Redhill which supports families in the East Surrey area who have at least one child under five and are facing some difficulty in their life. We desperately need new volunteers and are starting an 8-week training course at Reigate Park Church.  We are looking for volunteers who can attend an 8 week preparation course starting in January (one day a week, within school hours and not including school holidays) and can then commit to visiting a local family once a week for 2-3 hours.  For further information: www.home-starteastsurrey.org.uk or call the office on 01737 770220
