About Us — Our Story in the Heart of Dorking
St. Paul’s Church Nursery operates from purpose built rooms on the ground floor of the Church Centre.
We aim to deliver excellence in both education and care within a loving, safe and welcoming environment. Your child’s individuality will be celebrated and respected in order that he or she is helped to develop.
The Nursery was set up in 2003 to be an integral part of the St. Paul’s Church vision and a practical way to demonstrate Christian love and service in the Community.
At St Paul’s Church Nursery, we believe children learn best through play, exploration, and meaningful real-life experiences. Our curriculum is rooted in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and guided by each child’s individual interests, needs, and stages of development.
Our approach is both child-led and carefully planned, with a strong emphasis on emotional security, curiosity, and a love of learning. Children are encouraged to choose from a wide range of purposeful activities, supported by skilled adults who gently guide and extend their thinking. We help them build independence, solve problems, and grow in confidence—whether they are working alone or with others.
Our experienced team are active participants in children’s play, asking thoughtful questions, modelling language, and creating opportunities that deepen learning across all areas of the EYFS.
