Use your gifting, discover new skills, and feel part of our community
St Paul’s Dorking is a bustling church with a lot going on.
Coffees to pour, sound desks to man, lights to turn on…
bells to ring, websites to run, prayer teams to populate…
live streams to film, choirs to sing with, flowers to arrange…
young people to minister to, services to lead, people to welcome…
… and the list continues!
All this would not be possible without the work of our volunteer teams. We feel called to use our giftings to serve alongside Jesus and to love our community. We are ambitious in all that we do because we love to bring the Kingdom through our teams.
So, are you ready to roll up your sleeves and get involved? There is something for everyone here at St Paul’s Dorking. Who knows what skills (and new friends) you might discover or learn if you put yourself ‘out there’ in faith. Please fill in the form below to find out more, or look for our volunteers on Sunday who would love to tell you about who they are and what they do.

Hi, I’m Elise!
I joined St Paul’s Dorking in 2016 as a newly baptised Christian. Being new in my faith, I thought I had more to learn about the Bible before I could join a team. I was very wrong!
It started with the music - I’ve always loved to sing and was approached by the worship team lead to see if I would consider trying backing vocals at the informal evening services. I was a little worried about being so exposed at first, but I was mentored brilliantly and it wasn’t long before I was happy leading vocally. As I grew in confidence, I found myself learning about prophetic singing too.
When Wednesday Night Youth (a group for 14-18 year olds) was ‘pitched’ in the summer of 2017, I had never done any kind of teaching or a mentorship role. All I knew was that I loved Jesus and was keen for the teens of our community to know him too, or at least have a space to ask questions about him. 8 years later and not only had I found a truly rewarding place to volunteer, but the other adults on the team became dear, dear friends. It wasn’t all about the young people’s learning either; I grew exponentially in my faith through discussing their opinions, and learnt a lot about myself (namely that I’m no good at ball games…).
I cannot stress enough the benefits of joining a team. You will gain new skills, new friends, discover gifts, grow spiritually and feel a sense of belonging at the church.
